Venice – “All Winter comes into my being” – WINTER SONGS

DIALOGUE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN IN A PARK IN LONDON

A Why Venice?

B To escape

A Is it possible?

B Yes, I think so.  It is necessary.  One always wants to escape.

A Do you love me?

B  I hope I might still.

A How will you know if you do?

B Venice will be a way, it will tell me

A You always leave, can’t you stay and love me? You can always not go.

B What do you want from me?

A I wanted you to love me

B I did once but I let it go

A Could you not hold on to me longer?

B I tried but it is beyond my reach, it kept slipping away and

I kept hoping I might one day but instead it was like a dream which seems real yet is only an illusion.

A I hoped very much we might find happiness

B Me too

A Happiness is like beauty

B Maybe one is drawn to both very strongly

A Is it difficult for you to be real?

B Yes, I find it difficult, I prefer to believe in whatever it is possible to be.

Film can help that a lot.  Through film and even cinema you can be more unreal.

A Yes, that’s understandable.

B I think Venice will help me find myself more or become someone else more.

A The name Venice, a place to get lost in.

B  I hadn’t thought about Venice for years, then suddenly it came to me.  It presented itself to me like a vision.  I can’t do anything else but go.

A It seems a good place to lose oneself and to find oneself or another.

B It says find love in Venice, come to Venice
