Communion was projected in High Definition on the 24ft cinema screen of the Queen’s Cinema which was built in 1957 and closed in 2006 and was opened especially for the installation event.
The installation included a Billboard poster (200cm x 600cm on blue back cinema poster paper) for the exterior facade of the cinema.
The 3-day installation event closed with a Q&A and discussion convened by Alice Mascarenhas. November 2013
Supported by the Arts Council of England and The Ministry of Culture, Government of Gibraltar.
At the time of the installation in 2013 the Queen’s Cinema was architecturally preserved including seating and 35mm projection booth. The Queen’s Cinema was one of few remaining historic cinemas in Europe – it was demolished in 2019.
